DUMONT, PATRICK SR.
Patrick Dumont affectionately known as “Pat” “Dad” “Grandpa” “Papa” lived a beautiful life. He was born on May 11, 1934 at Kitigan Zibi then known as River Desert. His mother was Marie Louise Dumont and grandparents were Samson Commanda Dumont and Theresa Mercier.
Having guided at Parc de la Verendrye he knew the area well and spent many hours working, fishing and hunting there. He was also a passionate hockey fan and enjoyed watching games with family and friends and took pride in going to the arena to cheer on his kids and grandchildren.
He loved living in Kitigan Zibi and served on Council for 12 years.
On August 4, 1956 he married the love of his life Pauline Marie Therese, daughter of Oscar Bourguignon and Georgina Bergeron. They met through a mutual friend Mary Jacko of Kitigan Zibi. Sadly Pauline passed away on December 4, 1997.
Together Pat and Pauline had six children: Suzanne (Carman), Bernard ”Butch” (Donna), Pat (Jane), Jo-Ann (Lonny), Gary (Joan) and Raymond.
“Grandpa” “Pat” “Papa” was also blessed with the following grandchildren: Brandon, Dwayne, Raven, Chase, Joshua, Kane, Julian, Jenna, Brett, Wyatt, Julianne, Jack and Lance and also the proud great grandpa of: Wade, Sophia, Myles, Elyana, Cyanah, Mackenzie, Livia, River, Everleigh, Oliver, Cale, Wesley, Silas, Skyla, Jasper, Dorothy and Knox.
We will miss you and are comforted by the fact that you will be back with Mommy “Mama” “Grandma”. We find comfort in knowing that your legacy lives on in the love we shared and the memories we will cherish forever.
